Adding 'they' pronouns would be tricky, because a character's gender doesn't just drive the pronouns — there are 180-odd gendered words that appear in summaries ('Lord' / 'Lady', 'convent' / 'monastery' etc.), so adding a new set of pronouns means populating all those as well.
