UC 2022 Discussion Post

Not long until posting starts for unconventionalcourtship! And a little over a fortnight until sign ups close.

How has this year's UC work been going? A triumph or a tragedy? More tangled than a M&B summary? My UC will be with the bears this year, I fear.

When I signed up I considered an early June date because I knew what I was writing. I'm glad I didn't! I have two long weekends between now and my posting date, so worst comes to worst, I'll be spending them writing.

Well, I can conceivably still do it??? As long as I don't go overboard and finish my other exchanges first, I think I can.

Oh man, I put off signing up until I could have a sense of whether I'd be able to write something in time, and I absolutely will not. Probably not even by amnesty week, for RL reasons. But at the same time, this fest gave me some ideas I'd like to pursue! If I end up posting something at some other time in the year, could I still reference this fest as inspiration?

Ha ha, I am continuously revising the scope of my project and at this point plan for the entire courtship to take place in 24 hours :D But it will happen! Somehow!

I had so many different ideas for which prompts to use for this challenge and ended up using something completely different from what I had imagined, but it's worked out well and I have a finished fic that only needs a new set of eyes to be done, I think... Problem is, I don't know where to find a beta at this hour (posting date, June 6th). Anyone got suggestions?

I'm not quite as far along as I'd hoped to be by now since I know I often write slowly, but I think I have most of my ideas figured out!! There's some mystery and plot I'm pretty excited to write :D

You could ask on a writers' or fandom specific comm? You don't need to have beta'd fic to post, but if you feel it needs it, but the beta is busy you can ask to have your date changed.

Thank you so much for the advice and consideration. I found a beta community and I've found someone to look it over for me now in time for the posting date, so that's all gonna work out fine!
