Prompt based on Between Strangers by Linda Conrad:
Rescuing a stranded father and child from a raging blizzard hadn’t been part of Dan Rydell’s plans. Yet he couldn’t abandon Casey McCall. And ended up getting snowed in with him, tasting those fiery kisses.

Notes: This was originally started for the 2021 challenge but I didn't get it finished in time. (Hilariously, it's still late but that's due to me marking the wrong day in my calendar.) Thanks to Celli for cheerleading as I wrote this, and Simplelyric for a fantastically detailed beta. Story title comes from Paul Kelly's "Careless".

This is set one step left of canon, where Danny never worked for Lone Star and Casey didn't go to Sports Night with Dana. I had to write out a Sports Night timeline to figure this out, but all you need to know is that it's set during the "Blizzard of 1996", where NYC got 20.2 inches of snow on 7-8 Jan.
