Summary: "Winning this battle could mean losing it all.
Workaholic Vincenzo Nibali doesn't eat fish, doesn't wear flannel shirts and certainly doesn't fraternize with the enemy. So why is he finding himself charmed by Tågegade By — his company's next development target — and the leader of its hostile opposition, Domenico Pozzovivo?
He must be more burned-out than he thought. His professional reserve is slipping. And he's starting to fantasize about a life beyond work... a life like Domenico has here. Maybe they can put their professional differences aside and explore this... friendship. Or maybe he's just deluding himself.
Because one of them has to win."
Notes: The setting is entirely fictional, though the community's struggle is heavily inspired by some real life cases of communities and citizens fighting against soulless development plans.
"Tågegade By" is a fictional village and is an homage to/slight crossover with the setting of Claus Deleuran's comic about Thorfinn.
A lot of the summaries in the Unconventional Courtship challenge have an American/British protagonist going to Italy and learning to enjoy life and find romance.
Since the protagonists here are Italians, I chose to try and subvert the trope - so in this story we have people from Southern Europe searching for love, happiness and hygge in a Danish setting. ;)
